Hi all! A couple nights ago I modeled for the historical costume painting class at the Nevada Museum of Art.
I wore one of my favorite outfits, a Regency gown given to me by Maggie, and an open robe I made several Christmases ago.
I was happy to be able to do “easy” hair for the night, but my papillote curls didn’t work! More on that later – I have “special needs hair,” haha.
|Not much of a curl, there!|
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
What I’m Wearing:
- Regency Gown – made by Maggie of Serendipitous Stitchery, with sleeve alterations by me
- Open Robe – originally based on Janet Arnold’s, then restyled, inspired by Jen’s, of Festive Attyre
- Hat – simple red silk beret with a gathered grown, decorated with a vintage brooch and feathers
- Shoes – Pemberley 1790s-1810s Regency Shoes, from American-Duchess.com

You look lovely! I wonder if any local art classes would need a model, that would be fun!

You can call up any local art schools and check, or even pitch them the idea 🙂

This is so cool! I love the outfit and that the museum did an event like this!

The museum tried out the class a couple years back now, and it was really popular. It runs for 6 weeks, with a new costume/period each time, and has been running now for 4 sessions. It's cool to see how each artist interprets the pose and the clothing. 🙂
