I am no longer a "one book wonder!" (well, to be fair, I previously had, like, two books on costume - Fashion: The Collection of the Kyoto Costume Institute
And of course a teacup and saucer, from my ever savvy mom. Lovely "Queen Anne" bone china from England, done up in pretty roses. To accompany, a box of Twinings Lady Grey, my favorite :-).
Happy birthday! Go buy books! Used on Amazon! :) :)
ReplyDeleteooh, those V&A books are my favorites. Good job, Mr. C! And Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteLucky, lucky you! What thoughtful gifts!
ReplyDeleteI Love! the Fashion in Detail books! A friend of mine had the 17th/18th century one and we spent many a happy hour with Lady Grey tea, her kitties, and that book! There must always, by the way, be Twinings Lady Grey in my cupboard!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!!! Happy Birthday :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! One book that you'll want to add to your wish list is the LACMA catalogue from their current Fashioning Fashion exhibition. It is the prettiest book I've ever seen with photos that will inspire you. I've got a review on my site if you are curious.
ReplyDeleteI've been drooling over the detail shots, oh my goodness. I realize looking at these books (realize for the upteenth time), that I'm such a horrible undertrimmer. Even with the frilly stuff I put all over that casaquin, it just looks naked now after looking at these books!!!
ReplyDeleteIngrid, I've definitely got the LACMA book on my wishlist. One of these days I'm going to just gorge on books, just going to buy them all and lock myself in my loft for 3 days to look at them all!
Aha, a year older and she is discovering the maximalist within! :) Happy birthday, I am now officially envious of your book collection, it will inspire me to look further!
