It’s August, which means Gatsby. It’s one of my favorite events, a delightfully relaxed little picnic at the Pope Mansion in South Lake Tahoe.
This year my dad came. He’s all into dressing up and looking good now, and especially loves his “Gatsby gear.” Argyle always befits everyone, in my opinion.

Picnic-ing. |
There were ukeleles, cars, and the beautiful backdrop of our alpine lake. Nice weather, and general fun had by all. I wore an older dress, paired with my reworked strawberry cloche. That’s all, really! Enjoy the photos!

My outfit – an oldie but a goodie. Need to find some ’20s appropriate sunglasses, though! |

Ukelele band. These guys were a delight. |

August 11, 2014 at 11:01 PMOk, the picture of your Dad sitting on the blankets is my favorite! What a totally fun guy! Your mom looks very delightful in her lovely frock! It looks eyelet to my eyes? I LOVE it! And Huzzah for your new hat that goes so great with your dress!! I adore Gatsby events…Victorian and Edwardian events are fun, but Gatsby events are a bit more relaxed, but still have a very elegant sense about it! Fun photos of the cars by the way! Did you drool very much? hahahaha!
Blessings!

August 12, 2014 at 2:40 AMHe's pretty fun. He's only recently gotten into going to costuming events, and seems to really be enjoying it. 🙂
And yes, oh yes, I drooled over the cars…not directly ON the cars, though, lol

August 18, 2014 at 12:02 AMGatsby's caar, laaaa! Way too awesome! Did you get a ride? Never attended a purely Gatsby-1920's event, so I guess I'll have to organise one myself. And I am soo going to invite my parents, seeing your dad in a quirky 20's outfit must be the best thing ever!

August 18, 2014 at 6:58 PMWe didn't take a ride, though they were being offered (there was quite the line). Gatsby events are a lot of fun, and very laid back, so they're easy to put on. Go for it!
