Ladies, I didn’t quite get through this insane project before Thanksgiving, and I am still working on the print-on-demand book, but for those of you that would like the digital copy, you can now download it here:
FREE! Bellas Hess & Co. 1917-18 Catalogue – PDF Download (244 MB)
FREE! Bellas Hess & Co. 1917-18 Catalogue – KINDLE FILE (*.mobi)
If you would like to purchase the catalogue to go directly onto your Kindle, you can do so here:
Bellas Hess & Co. 1917-18 Catalogue – KINDLE ($2.99 – USA, UK, FR, AU – comment for other countries)
Amazon wouldn’t let me make the Kindle download free, but if you feel grateful for the digitization work I did, I will happily accept your $1.00, which is what is left for me after Amazon has taken all its fees and such.
I’m still working on the print-on-demand book, but as soon as that’s ready and I’ve made sure it looks good, I will update this post, and blog about it anew.
I hope you enjoy this treasure trove of Great War fashion information!

December 5, 2014 at 7:57 PMThanks so much for your effort scanning these! I got interested in the Great War fashion recently (1918 in particular – coincidence? I don't think so LOL), so this is a huge help.

December 3, 2015 at 10:26 PMCould any of you talented people, start a line of "Great War Era" patterns for the contemporary body sizes? It's so frustrating that many designers have focused on the 1930/40's, but the prior era are bup-kiss. Thoughts????

December 4, 2015 at 12:45 AMI know of one patternmaker off the top of my head – http://wearinghistory.clothing/product-category/wearing-history-patterns/shop-by-time-period/victorian-1910s/
Wearing History has a few patterns for the teens, and is adding more. I've made the 1910s Suit Jacket pattern and it was quite easy. I haven't made the skirt or blouse yet, but they're on my list.

September 20, 2016 at 12:27 AMAs an historical document, I am grateful for your work. Personally, I don't need any help resembling a menopausal walrus. Like most eras, if you are size 8, go right ahead!
