So in honor of the Historical Sew Fortnightly Challenge #21, and my light green wedding gown, here are some gorgeous 18th century green dresses.

I like the first one very, very much, because it appears to be a more voluminous sleeveless overgown of a taffetta-like fabric worn over an underdress of very classical proportions - wow!
ReplyDelete(though it could be just a chemisette thing.)
DeleteIt looks like velvet! I love it too, so luxurious. No wonder Scarlett went for the curtains!
DeleteI did not think of velvet - the image is kind of blurry, so I ascribed it to that; but now I cannot unsee. :D
DeleteThey're so pretty, I especially love the first one, and the fashion plate. The seafoamy green quilted petticoat is gorgeous too. I'm working on one the exact same colour.
ReplyDeleteAlso, congratulations! Does this make Mr.C a Duke?
Do I notice a "green theme"? Are you teasing us?
