Dress-Up Christmas Party at Liz & Warren's

A couple nights ago, we went to Liz and Warren's Christmas party.  All costumes were welcome, so there was an array of periods, from Regency to Civil War to Steampunk.  There was also an array of delicious foods, and plenty of Liz and Warren's amazing artifacts, garments, furniture, sculptures, paintings, weird bone purses, 600 pound clay soldiers, from their world travels, to look at, study, and hear stories about.

Here are some photos:

Mr. C and me.  I was depicting a festive lady of 1800.  He was depicting a web developer circa 2011.
Dad's finally gotten into "dressing," as Liz puts it.  He's got a nice suit of Victorian clothes that he's worn 4 times, but already he's moaning for new things!
The 600 lb terra cotta soldier in the room was quite a conversation starter...

The refashioned robe and dress, with red Pemberlies and a quick red silk beret I threw together that afternoon.  Mr. C called it my "wizard hat."

Merry Christmas!

  1. That looks like fun! Your Regency costume looks great!
I couldn't help noticing the angry-looking face of the stone warrior in the back of the first picture... ;) Thought he was one of your friends for a moment! :-)
    Merry Christmas!

  2. Hahaha, Liz was sad we didn't put the funny glasses on the warrior. Would have been priceless, lol.
