Hello from Costume College!

Reporting from Costume College: Hello! We’re half way through and having a fabulous time!

I have lots of pictures to share with you when I get back, but in the meantime, here are some very silly pictures:

Nope. No explanations for any of these. 🙂

WOWEEEEEE! Love the dress and can't wait to see the official shots of it. Meanwhile I am soooo envious of the fun and games. Some day I will pick your brain about how many outfits are needed and how to get myself out there…
Oh and I can totally see you in the overalls. Yep, I'd say that's a keeper!
    Best wishes for more silliness,
    Nancy N

It's not as many outfits as you would think. If you do every dress up event, you need five – pool party (Thursday night), Ice Cream Social (Friday night), Gala (Saturday – this is the big poofy hurrah), Sunday breakfast (Sunday morning) and Tea (Sunday afternoon). For daywear, when you're taking your classes, many don't dress in costume at all or will wear simple, easy vintage pieces. You can choose to go to all or some of the events, which will dictate what you bring. I usually do just two big dresses and fairly slim, low-key vintage for the rest. 🙂

To get here, enroll on Costume College's website around January/February, and book your hotel room. The hotel fills up FAST, so even though the event isn't until August, you want to make your reservations that far in advance. Then just train-it, plane-it, or automobile-it out to LA and enjoy a long weekend of craziness 🙂

My hair is a wig I made using instructions from the 18th Century Hair and Wig Styling Book. Just the very front is my own hair blended into the wig, and powdered to match.
