I finally finished Olympe’s lovely cream, goldenrod, and powder blue stays. Finally. FINALLY. It’s only taken me FOREVER.
They are too small for the smallest setting on my dress form, so just imagine a teeny-tiny waist and the tabs fanning properly around to the back. And, of course, they are shown here over the petticoats just for display purposes…they should be under, naturally.
I’m very proud of these stays. They were the first stays commission I took, and I learned SO much both in the pink prototype, and then on the final pair here. They’re off to Olympe in the mail now!

February 21, 2011 at 11:50 PMOlympe, they'll be mailed out tomorrow (Tuesday) due to the holiday today. It's quite a massive envelope, lol, with the fabric in it as well as the stays.
I have a booking for May for some Regency stays, and a couple projects to finish up right now. Also, there's always sewing to do for myself, lol. I will have time for more stays and corsets in a little while – what do you have in mind?

February 22, 2011 at 11:05 PMNicely done! I am a sucker for this shade of yellow, and really like your choice of the brighter shade on your edges. With the touch of blue it has me pining for spring. A thrill really to see such work.

February 22, 2011 at 11:40 PMThank you very much. The fabric choice was all Olympe's – she sent me the beautiful buttercream jacquard and the brigh gold linen. We tempered it with the blue ribbons, although creamy ribbon would have looked great too. So would green…or…pink…:-)
