We are thrilled to present the Fit for a Queen collection, which combines 18th century and Regency silhouettes with fantasy and luxury, for a truly royal experience. Inspired by the regal aesthetics we have all been enjoying lately, this collection is filled with sumptuous satins, gilded details, and a very special edition shoe that is available for two weeks only!
Fit for a Queen is comprised of three styles in total: two beloved American Duchess styles, now in gorgeous new colors, as well as our new Charlotte Mules. Without further ado, we present our Fit for a Queen offerings!
Charlotte Mules
Introducing Charlotte Mules, a cousin to our Antoinette Mules. Charlotte is made using the same last and heel as Antoinette, but she strikes a different look. We went out of the box with this design, and we are quite excited about it! Whereas Antoinette features a heavily embroidered upper, Charlotte’s uppers are made from a rainbow of beautiful satins, simple and subtle in appearance, where the colors speak for themselves. Choose from Charlotte in black, ivory, dusty purple, and teal. They are stunning on their own, but they are also perfect for customization using ribbons, buckles, and rosettes. Charlotte’s most unique feature is the metallic gold leather heel and rand, which blends history and fantasy for a truly show-stopping shoe. These elegant backless heeled slippers are the ideal choice for fancy gowns fit for Versailles, with a superbly balanced French heel, leather lining for easy walking, and a softly pointed toe.
The Charlotte Mules are made of durable materials specifically to withstand both indoor and outdoor wear. A thorough spritzing with Angelus Water & Stain Repellant will help to preserve the cleanliness of the gorgeous satin uppers even more. These beautiful slippers are easily slipped on or off when fully dressed – no bending down to fasten buckles or ties – and the real leather lining keeps them securely on your feet.
Limited Edition Gilded Charlotte Mules
Limited edition Gilded Charlotte 18th century mules feature limited edition gold-on-gold embroidery, for a truly royal look! These shoes are only available to pre-order for two weeks, then they will be gone forever. That’s right- after July 7, this mule will no longer be available for pre-order. Treat yourself to a regal experience while you can! In addition to a gold leather heel and gold rand, Gilded Charlottes feature gold satin bedecked with golden embroidery in a brand-new motif, unavailable on any other shoe. Pair Gilded Charlotte with your best Georgian gown, or with your everyday wardrobe to add a touch of luxury. Just make sure to order them in time!
Penelope Regency Slippers in New Colors
Our Penelope Regency Slippers are now available in FIVE splendid new colors: black, ballet pink, light purple, dark green, and gold. These new Penelopes have matching Petersham ribbons and binding, whereas our first four colors of Penelope have contrasting binding. These beautiful slip-on shoes feature a satin upper, embroidered with a historical design on the vamp, and spangles provide a touch of sparkle. The edges are bound in petersham, with matching optional ankle ribbons and vamp bow, which can easily removed. Period-correct turnshoe construction, soft square toe, and real leather soles make Penelope perfect for Regency events, living out your Austen and Bridgerton fantasies, and times when one just wants a flat and pretty shoe.
Kensington 18th Century Shoes in New Colors
An American Duchess classic style returns in three splendidly rich new colours! Kensington 18th century shoes are now available in beautiful warm walnut, deeply verdant forest green, and luscious Bordeaux shades. We selected these leathers for their rich, defined, and full colors, and we think they turned out so wonderfully. Kensington 18th Century Shoes offer all the sensibility of hard-wearing camp shoes, but are also lovely to look at and comfortable to wear. These shoes are beloved by costumers, living historians, and footwear enthusiasts alike, for their unsurpassed comfort and iconic 18th century shape. We have offered them in many colors over the years, but we have to say, these Kensingtons are particularly lovely. Pair them with your favorite buckles from our accessories section!
The Fit for a Queen collection is available for $20/€20 off each pair from June 23 through July 7 in our US and UK/EU stores. We expect them to be delivered in October/November 2023.
