I found Living History in general, when I volunteered as a docent in California's San Juan Bautista State Historic Park. From there, it was a short jump to Civil War reenacting in California, and then in the mid-'90's in Portland OR. I helped put together the NCWC's Civilian Corps, learning a lot about how much I didn't know! I had to give it all up due to fibromyalgia and ageing, and I miss it a lot. When I came across your blog a couple of days ago, I was thrust back in time, wishing we had had access to your shoes then. I'm not at the level of expertise in either knowledge or sewing that many of you obviously are, but I can carry on a decent conversation!
