V304: Introducing “23Skidoo” 1920s T-Strap Spectators – Pre-Order Now!

I’m so pleased to introduce to you our first 1920s/30s style shoe, the “23Skidoo” t-strap spectators, available in two colorways.  It’s everything Deco Era Gatsby shoes should be – a d’orsay pump, with t-strap closure, spectator styling, and a custom made French heel of proper height and balance.

Pre-Order* is Now Open
November 1 – November 19, 2012

*Pre-Order items will take an estimated 8-12 weeks for delivery.  Your shoes must be manufactured, checked for awesomeness, and freighted to us, before skipping out the door to you.  We really appreciate your support and patience.

It doesn’t get any more period-perfect than these – everything from the shape of the toe, the height and slope of the heel, to the strap styling on 23Skidoo is closely based on original antique examples of shoes from the 1920s.  Finally you can have exquisitely styled retro flapper shoes that will fit your modern footsies.

perfect 1920s shoes

One of my favorite things about the Skidoos is the paint-your-own aspect of the white/white colorway.  They’re snazzy as is, but imagine them in your favorite color combination to match that new Gatsby or Downton frock – green/white? blue/ivory? maroon/black?  The possibilities really are endless.  Easily paint your Skidoos with Angelus Leather paints, and show off your completely custom pair of spectators to the envy of your pals.

The Pre-Order period is just 19 days, so get your orders in, and help us make 23Skidoo a reality.  As always, if we do not achieve the minimum number of orders, we have to refund everyone and cancel the style.  Please spread the word! Share any of the imagery here on the blog, from Facebook, or www.american-duchess.com, and help us reach 100 orders!

So excited for this pre-order! I just took a look at your size chart to figure out what size I should order. Can you tell me if the measurement provided are accurate? I'm sure they are, I only ask because I remember the size mix up with the pre-order of Georgiana shoes.

The samples we received were spot on for sizing – I wear a 7.5 and the shoes fit perfectly. The size kerfluffle happened only once with the first order, but we've since corrected the issues ๐Ÿ™‚ Order your usual size for dress shoes.

I was going to be good and not buy these but I think I must have them! Maybe I can convince my husband to buy them for me as a Christmas gift!

Unfortunately we can only manufacture in B width, but ladies of wider foot have been having success with ordering a half-size up. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks! I think the feathers really make the hat. I didn't add them myself – they came with the chapeau – but this is an easy look to create ๐Ÿ™‚

Great photos! And perfect timing with Halloween. You really do look like you have crazy, huge eyes. It's kind of scary, especially with the facial expression. It would transfer well into a possible zombie costume. Zombie 1920s, HA!

The outfit you're wearing in the photos is really cute. These past few posts you've done about the 1920s have really reminded me how much I love that decade.

I've been eyeing your shoes for awhile as I've been contemplating beginning historical costuming/reenacting. Funny story, I've been mentioning in an off-handed manner to my husband the possiblity of doing historical re-enactment. This evening he barged into the living room while I was reading and said out of the blue, "So are we re-enacting at a Renaissance faire or what!??!" It made me laugh. Then he went back down the hallway singing AIC's "Rooster." Yes, true story.
